  • Structure of NTM Class(es): Classes are one semester in length with 10 students per class.  The class meets five days per week for one class period which usually lasts 45 minutes.

  • Software Used: Ableton Live Suite, GarageBand, Pro Tools, Audacity, and iMovie
  • Hardware Used: Mac Mini, MIDI keyboard, Ableton Push I and II, various microphones and 16 channel mixing console


  • Class NTM Activities:  In Music Technology I students focus on audio concepts, music technology history, music production, sound for film and television, and creation of bottom line components in regards to creating a record.  In Music Technology II students focus on activities associated with recording such as songwriting, vocal producing, recording arts, mixing, mastering, and music distribution options.

  • History: The music technology program started in 2015.  The program was created from scratch and it has been building continuously.

  • Success Stories from NTM Activities: After the first year of the program and doing an exposure performance for the entire student body, the program had over 150 students sign up for the class which only has 10 seats.

  • Advice to Others Starting NTM ProjectWhatever you do, make the class FUN and engaging and the rest takes care of itself.

  • Data: Currently the number of seats in the class and number of classes offered  only support less than 1% of our total school enrollment. Enrollment in the class has peaked at over 10% of the student body.
